We, the Muslims living in Australia, do we identify ourselves as "Australian Muslims" or "Muslims in Australia"?
Looks like both are the same, but it is not. What is the difference then? Is it just the semantics or is there any significant difference to the way it is framed?
The situation of the Ummah has changed post 9/11, especially so for the Muslims living in the west. We all live this difference practically every single day. There is an agenda set for us by the west towards which we are being pushed to achieve their goals. It is in this light these terminologies were born and we are being deliberately identified using one over the other by the west.

French President Emmanuel Macron has been very vocal recently against Islam with statements like 'Islam is in Crisis'.
France has historically been very aggressive against Islam and it is where the concept of Crusaders was born. They were at the fore front in attacking our lands and disrupting our way of life. They were also instrumental in producing the current concept of Secularism and the way of life we live under.
When Secularism gives 'Freedom' to all religion, why is Macron attacking Islam again? What is that thing of Islam troubling the likes of Macron to issue such statements? Did Muslims of France do anything recently that provoked the President? Did the Muslims resort to any skirmishes? Or is it just the Hatred that they breed in their heart against Islam?

Culture and Civilization have been one of the most confused concepts amongst the Ummah. People who stand on Haqq, who differentiate between these two and who have been advising the ummah not to take political and social sciences from kufr civilization, have been more often than not attacked by our own brothers with hard questions like "Why do you then take their technology?
